Legal Notice
Important Copyright Information
WARNING CONCERNING COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS
The copyright law of the United
States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or
other reproductions of copyrighted materials.
Under certain conditions specified
in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or
other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy
or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private
study, scholarship, or research". If a user makes a request for, or later
uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use",
that user may be liable for copyright infringement.
Calumet College of Saint Joseph reserves the right to refuse to accept
a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would
involve violation of copyright law. If this is the case you will be
notified.
Terms of Service
By registering and submitting requests for interlibrary loans you agree
to all of the following terms:
Foreword
Specker Library requests interlibrary loan materials that we do not
own from other libraries. As such, failure to return materials in a
timely manner reflects poorly on the library, and Calumet College of
St. Joseph as a whole. We expect our users to make a strong attempt
to return materials on time, and undamaged.
On Fines
All fines the college recieves as the result of late, lost, or damaged
materials will be passed on to you. These
fines are dictated by the lending institution, which means they are
beyond our control. Please note that some institutions may
charge the library upwards of $100 or more!
If you are billed for a lost book and still have it in your possession,
please return it and we will waive all applicable fines designated as
replacement costs. Late fees will still remain your responsibility.
The library policy which allows the donation of canned goods in lieu
of fine payments does not apply for ILL materials. Unpaid fines may
restrict your graduation status, and your ability
to check out additional materials.
Loan Periods
We expect materials loaned from other libraries to be returned on the
designated due date. Because Calumet College of St. Joseph does not
own the materials, we must honor the requirements and policies of the
lending library. This means that loan periods and renewals may not be
the same as locally held materials.
Privacy
Any personal information collected at registration is only viewed by
library staff, and only then to process and deliver your requested materials.
Please do not input fraudulent information as this will only hinder
our ability to serve you.
